Hi, I'm Gerry Sklavounos, Jr.

I am an international business consultant, attorney and former four-term Canadian parliamentarian with extensive expertise in public affairs and geopolitics, business development, communications, media and crisis management. I have been called upon to collaborate on projects and ventures in various parts of the world and in diverse areas of economic activity, including the health, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, energy, environmental, fast moving consumer goods, entertainment, hospitality, mining, shipping, defense, and artificial intelligence sectors.

In my political life, as Deputy Government House Leader, I crafted weekly parliamentary strategy and crisis response, navigated legislation through chamber and prepared ministers for question period. As Chairman of the Committee on Health and Social Services, I steered the study of medical and pharmaceutical legislation and the oversight of public health bodies. And as Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministers of Health and of the Environment, I represented our government in these matters both locally and internationally.

International Work

I have represented government at the United Nations Biological Diversity Summit in Bonn, Germany, the United Nations Climate Conference in Warsaw, Poland, and at the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie as a monitor for the 2009 presidential elections in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
I also served on the executive of the U.S.-based National Conference of State Legislatures, the World Hellenic Interparliamentary Association in Athens, Greece, the Parliamentary Confederation of the Americas in Brazil, Mexico, Paraguay and elsewhere, and on numerous other international political organizations.

I hold Bachelor’s degrees in both Civil and Common Law and prior to my transition into politics and consulting, I litigated hundred of cases and served on numerous boards.

I also served on the executive board of the Hellenic Congress of Quebec, as Vice-President Public Relations of the Canadian Hellenic Congress and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Scholarships Foundation.

Fun fact: In 2004, I had the honor of being a torchbearer in the relay for the Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
